Come one, come all! Tri-School Productions students will present William Shakespeare’s comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, at 7:30 p.m. on October 21, 22, 28 and 29.
One of Shakespeare’s most beloved plays, A MIdsummer NIght’s Dream is performed on hundreds of stages around the world every year, and is many people’s first experience with Shakespeare, for a very simple reason: it’s wonderfully fun. The wild physical comedy and cavalcade of characters feels very familiar, making this dream extremely accessible to the old and young alike. From the most seasoned theater-goer to students and children looking for their for theatrical experience, Midsummer has something for everyone.

“The plot involves a lot of comedy, and it’s all tied to the action,” he said. “This show is so physical that it’s very easy for anyone to follow the play. It is also a great way to get exposure to this piece of English literature.”
When run-away couples and a band of hapless actors leave the to safety of the city walls and head to the nearby woods, they are thrown into a magical world of fairies, Kings and Queens, love potions, and a impish sprite who will stop at nothing to create romantic and comic havoc for all! The cast, made up of students from Mercy, Notre Dame and Serra, has worked diligently, to bring this show to life. They’ve worked hard on interpreting the poetry of Shakespeare with the sole purpose of enhancing the experience of the audience, and it is sure to pay off.
